Los Angeles’ Gallery1988 is teaming up with Konami Cross Media NY, to honor the international cultural phenomenon that is Yu-Gi-Oh!. To celebrate over 20 years of entertaining fans worldwide, some of the gallery’s most popular artists have been commissioned to create artwork inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh!’s colorful and iconic characters. Opening on the same weekend as the nearby Anime Expo, both one-of-a-kind pieces and prints have been created, inspired by the work of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi, and they are all set to debut at the exhibit’s opening reception on July 4th, 2019.
“It is an honor to organize a show celebrating the rich expansive world of Yu-Gi-Oh! created by Kazuki Takahashi. We are very excited to be partnering with Gallery1988 and the participating artists.” says Yuta Kose, President of Konami Cross Media NY.
In addition to the traditional artwork, a once-in-a-lifetime installation from Pretty In Plastic will also be displayed at G1988, creating a must-see for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, new or old.
